Sustainable development goals not only contributes towards a clean environment but also better climatic conditions. Within Asia next to China and India, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are actively developing countries in terms economy technologies. On verge achieving development, ASEAN highly depend on fossil fuels for their energy needs. The have taken visionary steps increasing renewable mix with conventional grid without hampering ongoing development; this study presents solar utilization policies, potential, progresses, challenges adopted countries; furthermore, these nations there is huge potential being located near equator, therefore, they should focus both electrical thermal applications; however, order meet peak demand ensure reliability like power, advanced storage systems could be key areas, concrete efforts required. Therefore, article spotlight government policies focusing major progress implementation furthermore recommended highlights accelerate exploitation usage among people discussed detail, besides, insights reduction carbon footprints over decade through incorporation systems. issues will helpful exploring desired followed, which eventually attract stakeholders small medium-scale entrepreneurs business region, if implemented ground.
